INSTRUCTIONS OR AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission’s compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.

Types of Manuscripts to be submitted

Author Guidelines

  • Authors are asked to write their manuscripts in English in A4 size page with margins 2.5 cm from all four sides, Source Sans Pro font using a font size of 12. Page numbers included at bottom.
  • Ayurvedic terms and other Latin terms must be Italized and its equivalent English terminology should be mentioned in first instance in a bracket, for example: Urdhwaga Amlapitta (Non ulcer dyspepsia).
  • Total number of authors may be 01 to maximum 05., for multicentric clinical trials it may be more.
  • Headings in title case (not ALL CAPITALS), bold face capitals, single-spaced.
  • The references cited in the text should be after punctuation marks, in superscript with square bracket.
  • Standard International Units could be used throughout the text.
  • All named authors have agreed to its submission.
  • Authors have obtained permission from their employers or institution to publish, if they have a contractual or moral obligation to do so.

1. Title page

Title: Concise and informative. The running title should consist of not more than 25 letters and spaces. It should be as brief as possible, convey the essential message of the paper and contain no abbreviations.
Author names and affiliations: Please write the numbers 1, 2, 3 etc. after the name of each author in superscript. Write the authors' educational qualifications, designations, work addresses below author names in the respected order by indicating 1., 2., 3. etc. Provide the full postal address including the country name and, the e-mail address and contact number of each author.
Abstract: Well structured abstract, not more than 200 words, should clearly cover the background, aims and objectives of the study; methods, indicating the study protocol and statistical tests used; results, the important observations; discussion, describing the reasoning and probabilities for the results obtained. It should also conclude main concrete implications of the study. The full form of the abbreviations used in the abstract is to be given. No reference should be cited in the abstract. References should be avoided.
Key words: Most important subjects, 3 to 6 key words. These keywords will be used for indexing purposes. The title page should bear the title of the paper.

 

2. Introduction
The Introduction should assume that the reader is knowledgeable in the field and should therefore be as brief as possible but can include a short historical review where ever desirable. Include aims and objectives of the study.

3. Materials and Methods
This section should contain sufficient detail, so that all experimental procedures can be reproduced, and include references. Methods, however, that have been published in detail elsewhere should not be described in detail. Authors should provide the name of the manufacturer and their location for any specifically named medical equipment and instruments, and all drugs should be identified by their pharmaceutical names, and by their trade name if relevant. Experiments on human subjects are to be done in accordance with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) protocol or approved by an Institutional Ethical Committee. For the care and use of laboratory animals, the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India and OECD notified guidelines should be strictly followed.

4. Results
The Results section should be clear and concise and present the experimental data in text, tables or figures. Tables and figures should not be described extensively in the text, either. 5. Discussion
The discussion should focus on the interpretation and the significance of the findings with concise objective comments that describe their relation to other work in the area. It should not repeat information in the results. The final paragraph should highlight the main conclusion(s), and provide some indication of the direction future research should take.

6. Conclusion
This should state clearly the main conclusions of the research and give a clear explanation of their importance and relevance. Summary of important illustrations may be included.

7. Acknowledgements
These should be brief, and should include sources of support including sponsorship (e.g. university, charity, commercial organization) and sources of material (e.g. novel drugs) not available commercially.

8. Conflict of interest
Authors must declare whether or not there is any competing financial interests in relation to the work described.

9. References
Only papers directly related to the article should be cited. References should follow the Vancouver format. In the text they should appear as numbers starting at one and at the end of the paper they should be listed (double-spaced) in numerical order corresponding to the order of citation in the text.

Tables and Figure
Only MS word table format should be used for preparing tables. Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text. Add a caption (a brief title) below table only. (Lower face bold). Units of measurement should be abbreviated and placed below the column headings. Please avoid using vertical rules and shading in table cells. Figures should be only in JPEG format. Graphs and bar graphs should be prepared using Microsoft Excel and submitted as Excel graph pasted in MS Office Word. Add a caption (a brief title) below table only (Lower face bold).

Undertaking by Author
All the author(s) will have to submit an undertaking (in the format specified by the journal) that the paper has not been published / submitted for publication elsewhere as well as indicating their consent to be co-authors. The author’s undertaking is to be signed by each author in same sequence specified in the paper. Each author should give his/her names as well as the address and appointment at the time the work was done, along with current address for correspondence including telephone, fax number and email address. Author’s Undertaking form will be sent to the corresponding author’s email id. After submission of an article.
